Tatupu Proves Skeptics Wrong
Seahawk’s MLB Lofa Tatupu has been proving skeptics wrong ever since he entered the league 3 years ago. Many draft “experts” said that Tatupu was too short to play middle linebacker in the NFL and Seattle wasted a draft pick by trading up to get him.
With three Pro-Bowls under his belt and a new 6-year, $42 million extension, he’s outlived all of the lowly expectations bestowed on him on draft day. Now, he’s moved on to changing perspectives off the field. Many of the Seahawks’ upper management said that Tatupu was a model citizen and someone who young football fans should look up to. Not any more. Lofa has decided to prove them wrong too, getting arrested for a DUI on Saturday.
Tatupu has issued an apology, saying that it will never happen again. He cites his role as a leader on the team, and how this reflects poorly on him in that light. He’s clearly taking the high road, putting the team ahead of himself, although Saturday night it wasn’t about the team, but rather about getting his drink on and proving more people wrong.
